Pay Rate: The hourly rate range for this part-time position is $48.57 to $50.56. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Position Location: USA, Remote Telework/Work-from-Home Authorized: Yes About the Role: The journeyman level Proposal Manager / Technical Writer position will work directly with the Proposal Manager and Compliance team and collaboratively with Business Development, Operations, and Marketing to prepare winning proposals, RFPs, and presentations. This person will provide support of all activities related to the coordination and development of client proposals. This support includes proposal meeting facilitation (proposal kick off and color reviews) activities, technical writing / editing, as well as compliance matrix development and compliance checking of completed documents. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support gathering/analysis of data to identify trends and make recommendations for improving proposal strategies.
- Support the Proposal Manager in all activities related to the coordination and development of client proposals.
- Ensure the proposal adheres to established company branding and style guidelines.
- Compliance and Submission:
- Analyze RFP requirements, creating compliance matrices and checklists to track deliverables.
- Ensure all proposal documents meet formatting, submission, and compliance standards.
- Manage electronic and physical submissions, ensuring on-time delivery to the client.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders during the proposal process.
- Communicate updates, risks, and solutions to executive leadership and capture teams.
- Work with subcontractors and partners to integrate their input into the proposal.
- Support corporate initiatives, such as certifications or internal process improvements, related to proposal management.
- Participate in capture planning, pipeline reviews, and other business development activities to ensure that the Proposal Manager effectively drives the proposal development process, from strategy formulation to successful submission, while fostering a high-performing proposal team.
- Participate in gathering and guiding the compilation of data and information for proposals in response to Request for Proposals (RFP's), Request for Information (RFIs), Data Calls, and Standard Capabilities Statements.
- Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and deadlines for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.
- Maintain open communication and provide appropriate guidance to business development and operations team members regarding content, design, and delivery of proposal/RFP requirements based on job and company knowledge.
- Work with the business development team in gathering proposal information by identifying sources of information and coordinating file submissions and collections.
- Maintain electronic archives and procedures for all proposal materials on the team's server system and revisit regularly for process and content improvements.
- Research and edit materials for development of other marketing and sales materials, including capability statements, presentations, & white papers.
- Identifying other qualified candidates to join the Sawdey Team when vacancies arise.
- Participate in process improvement activities:
- Develop and refine proposal templates, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide feedback and lessons learned to improve future proposals and bid processes.
Experience Requirements:
- Eight to ten (8-10) years of proposal management and writing experience in a DoD environment.
- Must be experienced in a high-demand, deadline-oriented environment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Certificate, License, and Registration Requirements:
- APMP Professional-Level Certification (or equivalent) preferred.
Other Required Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed.
