The UW Oshkosh Police Department is actively seeking experienced and certified law enforcement professionals to join our team and support our mission of ensuring campus safety and security. Under the general supervision of a Police Sergeant, the UW Oshkosh Police Officer serves a community of around 11,000 students and employees; covering 58 buildings on 184 acres along the Fox River in the heart of Oshkosh. UW Oshkosh Police Officers are sworn law enforcement professionals (State of Wisconsin LESB certified) who exercise full statutory arrest authority while carrying out the Department's mission: to serve our community by building relationships, reducing fear, and solving problems - treating every person with the fairness and respect we would want for ourselves, and approaching every interaction as an opportunity to make a positive difference. This Continuous Recruitment Pool is designed to meet the department's evolving staffing needs in the following areas: 1. Full-Time Police Officer Positions 2. As-Needed Staffing In this role, the individual would be available to cover open shifts on an as-needed basis, providing essential support services to ensure the smooth operation of the department. These certified law enforcement professionals would be expected to respond to short-notice shift openings due to absences, special events, or increased operational needs. Key Job Responsibilities:
