Job Description

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is a nationally recognized research center dedicated to advancing technology in support of national security. Our Finance Operations plan to leverage AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics to optimize financial strategy, forecasting, and risk management.



We are seeking a Senior Analyst - AI and Predictive Analytics to design, build, and implement data-driven solutions that enhance financial planning and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Manager of AI and Predictive Analytics, this role will work hands-on with advanced modeling techniques, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and predictive analytics to deliver impactful insights that drive enterprise-wide decision-making.




Duties and Responsibilities

AI & Predictive Analytics for Financial Strategy



  • Develop and apply predictive models to improve forecasting, budgeting, and risk assessment processes.
  • Utilize causal inference and machine learning to analyze financial and operational trends.
  • Build and test NLP and LLM-based solutions to automate financial compliance monitoring and reporting.
  • Apply data science techniques to optimize cost efficiency, resource allocation, and financial planning.


Enterprise Data & Process Automation



  • Support integration of AI models with ERP and EPM systems (SAP, OneStream) to streamline financial reporting.
  • Automate routine processes to reduce manual workload and increase efficiency.


Collaboration & Delivery



  • Partner with finance, IT, and research teams to align analytics with business needs.
  • Translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights for financial analysts, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to building a center of excellence in AI-driven financial analytics within Finance Operations.

Qualifications - Required

AI, Data Science & Predictive Analytics Expertise



  • 3-5 years of experience applying AI/ML, NLP, or predictive analytics (finance, research, or related industries preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and R for data analysis and model development.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning frameworks, and cloud platforms (Snowflake, SageMaker, or similar).


Finance & Business Acumen



  • Understanding of financial forecasting, budgeting, and risk management principles.
  • Experience analyzing large-scale financial or operational datasets to support decision-making.
  • Ability to balance technical rigor with practical application in a mission-driven environment.


Collaboration & Communication



  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Effective team player, comfortable working cross-functionally with finance, IT, and research stakeholders.


Educational Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
