JOB SUMMARY This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level, and purpose of the job. The Template Analyst supports patient access at Stanford Medicine Children's Health (SMCH) by designing, analyzing, and maintaining provider and ancillary scheduling templates in EPIC. This role ensures efficient schedule generation, manages template change requests, troubleshoots scheduling issues, and provides consultative support to clinical and operational leaders to optimize provider utilization and patient flow. Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct. * Template and Schedule Maintenance: Implement requests for building and maintaining provider and ancillary schedules across multiple locations, including specialty and ancillary services. Ensure templates align with SMCH guidelines and are released per standards. * Quality Assurance: Analyze template structures and utilize the Provider Health Toolkit for accuracy, appropriateness, and validity before releasing them. Ensure templates are accurate and released in a timely manner according to template standards. * Relationship Management: Develop partnerships with operations leaders to coordinate optimal template designs and maintenance. Attend specialty departmental meetings to align templates with operations and educate staff on SMCH template standards and processes. * Communication: Maintain consistent verbal and written communication with stakeholders on template and schedule expectations, barriers, and opportunities. Escalate issues to the leader for resolution and track until completion. * Issue Resolution: Serve as the escalation point for template-related issues, maintain issue logs, and provide timely resolution. Coordinate issues with external departments as needed for resolution. * Other duties as assigned. QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications, is qualifying. Education: Bachelor's degree in related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related experience and master scheduling expertise to inform how templates are created, built, and maintained. License/Certification:
KNOWLEDGE These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education or licensure/certification. * Functional Knowledge: The Template Analyst must have a deep understanding of template design, provider capacity, and utilization statistics. This includes knowledge of scheduling configurations, sub-group maintenance, provider-to-department mapping, and visit-type alignment with operational changes. * Business Expertise: The role requires expertise in optimizing templates to achieve organizational access targets and contributing to strategic access initiatives. The analyst must be familiar with SMCH guidelines and standards, as well as the ability to provide consultative support on slot utilization across multiple departments. * Problem Solving: The Template Analyst must proactively identify gaps in template and scheduling configurations and provide timely resolutions to template-related issues. This involves analyzing template structures, utilizing the Provider Health Toolkit, and coordinating with external departments as needed. * Level of Responsibility: This role carries significant responsibility for ensuring that provider and ancillary schedules are generated and modified efficiently and promptly. The analyst must maintain accurate templates, facilitate and prioritize requests, and provide recommendations to improve template utilization. * Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship management and communication skills are essential. The Template Analyst must develop partnerships with operations leaders, attend departmental meetings, and maintain consistent communication with stakeholders. The ability to escalate issues and track them until resolution is also crucial.
