Assembles glass pieces with plastic sheet separator to build laminated glass or polycarbonate products in accordance with established production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Interprets run sheet and supervisors/leads instructions to determine what types of units are to be built.
2. Verifies glass on conveyer from washer as to correct size, color, type, surface is reflective, logo, logo placement and proper orientation as to base, left, right, and tempering log matching.
3. Inspects glass for dirt, chips, distortion, and any other type of flaws and circles or otherwise marks any defect and properly records them for supplier loss and or breakage reports.
4. Builds units with colored or coated glass following standards procedures regarding sequence and construction.
5. Performs duties in a safe manner using all approved safety equipment as instructed.
6. Performs duties in accordance with business process documentation.
7. Participate in Viracon's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.

Additional Job Responsibilities:
1. Selects proper plastics sheet(s) to build unit; verifies size, color and gauge of plastic, and inspects plastic for dirt or flaws. Notifies lead and plastic cutter of any discrepancy in plastic size, color, gauge or any flaws.
2. Places plastic sheet(s) on the outboard lite of the unit.
3. Ensures that plastic sheets are from the same manufacturer.
4. Ensures proper spacer is in the first de-airing nip roller.
5. Keeps unauthorized people out of the white room.
6. Maintains an effective working relationship with all department employees.
7. Maintains a neat and orderly working area at the end of the workday.
8. May perform reasonably similar or related duties as instructed.

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred but not required.
2. Ability to read, write and understand work instructions (English).
3. Mathematical skills as related to measurements.
4. Familiar with operating power tools.
5. Ability to take supervision.
6. Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member.
7. Must be able to safely perform essential job responsibilities.
8. Regular full-time attendance.
9. Promotes Viracon in a positive manner and obeys all policies.
