Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The University of North Carolina Wilmington (
UNCW) Center for Marine Science (
CMS) is seeking a highly organized and dependable individual to support critical departmental needs during a temporary full-time assignment. This role will primarily assist with preparation for an upcoming internal state audit, coordinate logistics for a major capital outlay project involving temporary relocation of faculty and staff and provide reception and administrative support at the department's front desk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with document gathering, data entry, and records management in preparation and response for an internal state audit
- Coordinate logistics related to a capital outlay project, including:
- Tracking space assignments
- Assisting with scheduling and planning of moves
- Communicating with faculty, staff, and facilities management
- Maintain up-to-date records of who is moving and when, ensuring all moves are documented and communicated effectively
- Perform light packing, labeling, and organizing boxes for shipping or storage
- Maintain a clean, orderly workspace while following team instructions and safety guidelines
- Other duties as assigned to support departmental operations during this period

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Previous experience in administrative, facilities coordination, finance, or audit support role is a plus
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment.
