ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a CFP-oriented Wealth Paraplanner, you will support Wealth Advisors and Trust Officers in delivering high-quality, comprehensive financial planning services. This role is ideal for professionals looking to grow into a Wealth Advisor position over time or as a career choice to focus on financial planning long term in support of a team.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Financial Planning Support:



  • Prepare and update financial plans using eMoney planning software.
  • Maintain accurate client net worth statements and investment summaries.
  • Conduct research and analysis on investment options, insurance, tax strategies, and estate planning.
  • Stay current on contribution limits, tax planning strategies, and other financial planning topics.


Client Meeting Preparation & Follow-Up:



  • Create meeting agendas, reports, and presentation materials.
  • Attend client meetings as a second chair; take notes and track action items.
  • Follow up on client deliverables and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Compile meeting notes and follow up tasks in Salesforce.


Portfolio Management:



  • Assist in portfolio rebalancing, asset allocation and performance reporting.
  • Monitor client portfolios and flag opportunities for improvement or reallocation.


Client Service & Operations:



  • Handle client service requests such as account transfers, beneficiary updates, and money movement.
  • Coordinate with others for account setup and maintenance.
  • Respond to client inquiries via email or phone in a timely fashion with professionalism and accuracy.


Compliance & Documentation:



  • Ensure all planning activities comply with CFP Board Code of Ethics, regulatory standards and firm policies.
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and Nautilus systems.


Team Collaboration & Development:



  • Work closely with Alerus Wealth team members and other partners across the enterprise.
  • Participate in internal training and development programs.
  • Contribute to process improvements and firm-wide initiatives.


WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • FINRA SIE, Series 7, 65/66 required within 6 months of hire.
  • Pursuit and/or attainment of CFP designation required.
  • 2+ years of experience in wealth management preferred.
  • Proficiency in eMoney financial planning software, SEI Wealth Platform, Osaic and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Personable and empathetic with a client-first mindset.
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable to new tools.
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional development.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office utilizing proper ergonomic safeguards when doing so. Additionally, the employee must occasionally lift or move supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
