We are looking for a Rare Disease Medical Outcomes Liaison (rMOL) who is strategic, collaborative, and a self-starter to join us in our US Rare Diseases unit, Eastern US field-based role

About the role

The Rare Disease Medical Outcomes Liaison (rMOL) will execute the US Rare Diseases unit

Population Health strategy through stakeholder engagement (e.g., Healthcare Providers, Healthcare System Executives, Advocacy Organizations, digital health, community health, academia, etc.), real-world evidence generation, and intervention/program development.

The rMOL will identify stakeholders, and subsequently develop and foster strategic partnerships, gather key insights, and lead research in the field, intent on generating new evidence and solutions to address systemic breaks in care for patients with rare diseases. Also drive the tactical plan for their designated geography with a focus on project deliverables that improve outcomes for the rare disease community.

What you'll do

    • Leads the execution of Rare Disease Population Health engagement strategy with external partners and decision-makers in the healthcare ecosystem
    • Identify and cultivate relationships with key Population Health stakeholders
    • Identify, develop, and execute strategic partnerships to co-create patient value solutions that address identified medical unmet needs
    • Utilize appropriate research methodologies to assess the magnitude of need and evaluate the impact of potential solutions
    • Drive execution of population health projects, including but not limited to evidence generation and intervention development
    • Maintains strict adherence to UCB internal processes
    • Create a network of key stakeholders and connect stakeholders on common areas of interest to drive optimal care
    • Collect insights from external stakeholders relevant to the US Medical objectives
    • Serve as Population Health and health equity expert at key medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, internal meetings, and amongst colleagues
    • Communicates clearly, concisely, and is easily understood in written materials and presentations
    • Understands healthcare-related trends and barriers to optimized care and leverages them to engage stakeholders along the patient journey to improve outcomes
    • Synthesizes and disseminates compelling scientific evidence with the aim of optimizing disease management
    • Identifies opportunities to pilot new UCB non-drug solutions

Interested? For this role, we're looking for the following education, experience, and skills

    • Terminal degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP or DrPH) with 2+ years of prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry
    • 2+ years' experience, working knowledge of social determinants of health, population health, and how these factors influence health outcomes
    • 2+ years of experience with working knowledge of research design methodology and epidemiological principles
    • Ability to travel (60%) required, including overnights and some weekends

Preferred

    • Master's Degree (Master of Public Health)
    • Field medical experience in industry strongly
    • Superior technical acumen, including design, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of collaborative research projects, with a proven track record of successful collaborations
    • Self-starter, willing to take initiative on complex projects, and able to identify what is necessary to complete tasks
    • Understanding of how digital technology and data an enablers for customer-facing activities

This position's reasonably anticipated base salary range is $156,000-$204,000 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
