Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Continuing and Professional Education Program Coordinator, working closely with the Director, independently executes program administrative duties to maximize the growth of fiscal and expanded program development and delivery opportunities necessary to remain a primarily self-supporting unit of UNCW, along with supporting other units as afforded.

Manages a multitude of partnerships and relationships to plan, organize, and execute a multi-faceted educational curriculum. This includes project coordination/management skills to develop timelines, goals, detailed deliverables, and identify resources necessary for successful implementation of academic curriculum to meet the needs of individuals and groups through the delivery of 250+ educational programs for adult learners as well as customized offerings.

Duties include, but is not limited to:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to program partners, clients, UNCW personnel, and the community-at large.
  • Coordinate cohorts, ensuring a seamless cycle from start to completion. This includes setup, registration, materials, delivery, surveying, and finalization.
  • Maintain business accounts and records.
  • Track budgetary items, including revenue and expenditures, and directly participate in budget development, amendments, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor contract and grant activity via Osprey system for approval and tracking needs.
  • Analyze and monitor databases to improve workflow systems as related to curriculum development.
  • Support Director in program development by assisting coordination with subject matter experts and instructional design staff alike.
  • Serve as the interfacing CPE staff member for the university non-credit (Lumens) registration system operations.
  • Serve as a main point with external groups, including workforce development, Veterans Affairs, and Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • Assure office and partner calendars and sites are accurate with program information and pricing.
  • Serve as the main interface for non-credit military programming, including MCCSS, MYCAA, and COOL.
  • Coordinate non-credit credentialing for the office, including certificates and badges.
  • Manage social media outlets.
  • Advise students when appropriate, including completing learning plans, registering, and withdrawals.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree and successful track record developing, coordinating, managing, delivering and evaluating a diverse platform of educational programs to include online, in-person, and hybrid delivery options for adult learners.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience managing partnerships, including with external vendors.
  • Experience in adult education, including knowledge of adult learning theory, practice, and learning styles, and multi-faceted delivery platforms for educational programs.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated success in working with partners to fulfill organizational mission.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, individual accountability and initiative, versatility, and self-management.
  • Critical skills required in planning, assessment, organizational and problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal communication.
  • Experience with registration system operations and management, budgets, program assessment, database management and reporting.

Please Note: This is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation.

Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31-day break from employment. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave.
