OVERVIEW The Millwright is responsible for operating all of the basic machine tools and specialized variation tools to perform precision machining operations. DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
  
 Perform mechanical repairs to pumps, compressors, gearboxes, centrifugals, valves, and screw conveyors, etc.Machine components to specifications with a high degree of precision using machines tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grindersSet up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and specialized variation tools to perform precision machining operationsSet up or operate metalworking, welding, or cutting equipmentUse precision measuring tools including Micrometers, Vernier calipers, Hand or spring calipers, depth gauges, etc.Inspect sample parts, read and interpret schematics and blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerancesPrepare working sketches for the illustration of product appearanceMaintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, layout, and machining proceduresSupport maintenance projects through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions and metal propertiesTroubleshoot, rebuild, install and align pumps with different seal assembliesDismantle equipment and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, or hoistsRead work orders and interpret equipment manuals and specifications to determine machinesRecord all repairs and maintenance performed as well as parts or materials used, and requisition new parts or materials as necessaryPerforms assigned duties while observing safety standards and good housekeeping requirements including proper care of tools, materials and equipmentAll other duties as assigned
 
 
 WORK EXPERIENCES 
 
  
 Three (3) years of experience working as a machinist in a shop environment or related settingMust be willing to weekends, holidays, and overtime as neededMust possess a machinist toolkit set (i.e. micrometers, calipers, inside and outside, etc.)Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic formPractical application of fractions, percentages, ration and proportion, logarithms, practical algebra, geometric construction, and essentials of trigonometryMust be able to write instructions in moderate to simple sentences to provide manufacturing informationMust be able to communicate technical information between tool design and manufacturing activitiesMust know how to use Engine Lathes, horizontal mills, bridge ports, key seeder, drill pressMust be able to pass verbal, written and hands on machining testMust be able to use all hand tools and chain fallsMust be able to read blueprints and basic instructionsMust have or be able to obtain a Forklift certification
