Inova Fairfax Inpatient Rehab is looking to add a Rehabilitative Clinical Specialist to our team. In this position you will communicate effectively with the treatment team, hospital personnel, community members, and other professionals. Initiate and perform public relations and community education activities while completing all administrative and other responsibilities in support of the operating unit. Ideal candidate will have advanced communication skills, innovative neuro treatments and clinical reasoning.

Rehab Clinical Specialist Job Responsibilities:



  • Initiates/performs educational activities within the hospital with the appropriate subject matter expertise and level of presentation relative to the audience.
  • Maintains an open communication channel with the Rehabilitation Management team and staff.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and knowledge about supplies, equipment billing and staff resources; Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and knowledge pertaining to supplies, equipment, billing, staff resources and other items used in the department.
  • Assumes a leadership role in department committees, processes and special projects.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively facilitate positive outcomes with conflict resolution.
  • Selects/implements evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to patients' diagnosis, age group and physical/emotional status.


Minimum Requirements:

Certification - Basic Life Support- must be from the American Heart Association

Documented advanced study/training in NDT (for PT and OT) and Dysphagia (SLP)Licensure

Eligible for Virginia licensure in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Therapy

Experience - Five years of neurorehabilitation experience

Education - Bachelors Degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy or Master's Degree for Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Preferred Experience:

Licensed Physical Therapist
