The Position

The Opportunity

The Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to customers. As a Field Applications Specialist you will:

  • serve as the Roche liaison and expert with the field and customers on all consultative, administrative and technical installation matters pertaining to implementation of assigned Roche systems.

  • serve as the lead technical expert for field support staff by supporting the local support team with the identification, analysis, and execution of complex hardware instrument implementations, including pre-installation planning and resolution of post-implementation hardware issues.

  • provide analysis, feedback and recommendations on product failure trends and serviceability issues.

  • diagnose mechanical, hardware, software and system failure, using advanced knowledge, experience and skills.

  • determine the most cost effective repair/resolution to minimize delay to the installation timeline.

  • responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with Roche hardware installations.

  • promote effective, positive, and productive communications among team members to ensure and maximize satisfaction of customers.

  • manage assigned installations at a level that promotes goodwill, confidence and credibility in order to exceed customer expectations in terms of product, installation and support quality.

  • oversee and assess quality of installation teams' work and provide feedback to regional lead engineers regarding customer site readiness, delivery, and install resource scheduling.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Cell Biology or Biochemistry, or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, and/or relevant experience.

  • 3 years of previous experience in a clinical laboratory or IT in a clinical lab environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and remain current on Roche solutions across various fields, including chemistry, immunology, molecular, life sciences, and IT solutions, while keeping up with industry trends.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with project management experience.

  • Strong customer consultative skills, including advanced scientific knowledge, exceptional customer engagement, and the ability to foster strong customer relationships.

This is a field based role - the territory is Sacramento, CA. Ideal candidate to live within the territory. Travel: Requires 70-80%; company car is provided with this position. Shift: Monday-Friday.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $73,400 and $136,000 of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Incentive Compensation Plan for the role.
