We are seeking a Sr-level *Cost Accounting Manager/Accountant* to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. This role will backfill our current manager, who is being deployed to a Microsoft Dynamics ERP implementation project. You'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory cost accounting and supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
*Key Responsibilities:* * Monitor and analyze product costs, including moving average cost changes and landed cost variances * Oversee cost calculations and ensure accurate inventory movement tracking * Analyze purchase price variances (cost, freight, duty) and provide fluctuation insights * Support costing reviews for new styles/seasons and update cost templates * Manage monthly close for global inventory * Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations * Analyze and report on COGS and inventory valuation * Monitor perpetual inventory balances and adjustments * Support external audits related to costing and inventory * Collaborate with sourcing, planning, logistics, and finance teams * Provide insights into cost trends for budgeting and forecasting * Monitor actual vs. forecasted costs and identify variances *Qualifications:* * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field * 7+ years of progressive experience in inventory and cost accounting * Strong knowledge of US GAAP, margin analysis, and inventory valuation * Advanced Excel and Power BI skills * ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Workday, or NetSuite) * Retail or apparel industry experience highly preferred * Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-SKU, fast-paced environment *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
