Job Overview:

The Insurance Specialist provides dedicated support to the organization's insurance program, ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives and risk management objectives. This role is primarily responsible for the maintenance, review, and renewal of a wide range of insurance policies, helping to secure adequate coverage across the network. The Specialist will analyze policy terms, identify areas of improvement, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of insurance principles along with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in safeguarding the organization's assets and advancing its strategic goals.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science required or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience with risk management in acute care hospital, medical practice, or insurance office; Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • High degree of autonomy and self-directed work with ability to handle multiple projects/problems simultaneously while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.

Preferred:

  • Focus in healthcare or business.
  • Risk management with insurance knowledge preferred.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-Time, Day, Salaried

Essential Functions:

  • Provides support for the day-to-day operation and oversight of the insurance program through activities including, but not limited to, program inventories and maintenance of renewal schedule, application coordination and application completion for various lines of insurance.
  • Leads the insurance renewal process, including gathering necessary information, communicating with brokers, analyzing quotes, and ensuring timely policy renewals,
  • Critically reviews existing insurance policies.
  • Cyber Liability, General Liability, Property, Workers' Compensation, Professional Liability, etc.
  • Identify potential gaps in coverage, exclusions, and areas for improvement.
  • Liaises with relevant departments and outside parties to ensure information provided is comprehensive and received in timely manner.
  • Authorizes release of certificates of insurance for various lines of insurance including but not limited to property, auto, worker s compensation.
  • Reports and coordinates property loss claims to ensure coverage for facilities, equipment and business interruption.
  • Reports and coordinates auto liability claims for company owned and operated vehicles.
  • Reports to management on the status of projects, maintains appropriate files, follows up on tasks and open items.
  • Plans and organizes relevant meetings and conference calls, reviews meeting materials, and prepares presentations, when necessary.
  • Processes payment requests, maintain records of payment and other administrative and clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects and prepares data analysis reports for management.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
