Temple University's Athletics Department is searching for a Director of Player Development .

Salary Grade: A66

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Head Men's Basketball Coach, the Director of Player Development is responsible for preparing student-athletes for personal, academic, and athletic development success. This position will be primarily responsible for oversight of the day-to-day personnel matters of student-athletes, assisting in planning weekly and monthly practices, class, and study hall hours, and assisting with all on-campus recruiting activities. Director of Player Personnel will perform other duties as assigned by Head Men's Basketball Coach.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree. Two or more years related experience. Previous experience with a Division 1-A Men's Basketball program preferred. Knowledge of NCAA and Conference Regulations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:

Master's degree.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrate a proven track record in building quality relationships.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Demonstrated problem solving, strong leadership, and team-building skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to supervise the maintenance and improvements of Men's Basketball facilities, including field preparation and readiness.

  • Ability to liaise with the coaching staff for Men's Basketball officiating and rules, including University guidelines, American Athletic Conference guidelines, and NCAA rules.

  • Ability to organize preseason training camp with regards to housing, meals, transportation, entertainment, speakers and presentations, officials, and daily schedule.

  • Ability to assist with the coordination and execution of fundraising, donor, and fan events.
