The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is actively searching for qualified individuals to fill a full-time Technical Assistant role at the Franklin Park Performing and Visual Arts Center. Founded in 2008, the Arts Center features a professional theater with a seating capacity of 250 and is equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual, projection, and live-streaming technologies. Additionally, it offers a comprehensive visual arts program, which includes two gallery spaces for exhibitions, all situated within Franklin Regional Park. The Franklin Park Arts Center functions as a non-union venue dedicated to recreational activities. If you possess experience in technical theater, including the programming of digital lighting consoles, audio consoles, the hanging and focusing of lighting fixtures, and involvement in livestreamed performances, as well as general support for theater, dance, music, comedy, and family events while serving as Manager-On-Duty, and enjoy problem-solving, this may be the opportunity you have been seeking. The role entails assisting in the management and oversight of physical theater operations, in addition to supporting other events and activities organized by the Arts Center. The ideal applicant will exhibit essential skills such as effective communication, problem-solving abilities, adaptability to dynamic environments, critical thinking, and teamwork, along with a thorough understanding of theater lighting, audio, and projection systems.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s): * Franklin Park Performing & Visual Arts CTR, Purcellville, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Offers guidance and training to personnel and volunteers regarding technical systems support for Performing Arts Center programs; establishes standards for the utilization and upkeep of lighting, sound, and other technical theater systems; and ensures adherence to standard safety protocols by staff and volunteers. * Provides support for facility upkeep and the setup and takedown of rooms to guarantee that the facility is always clean and available for users. * Facilitates the operation of lighting and sound systems, as well as related technical theater systems, as needed for various performances, including theatrical plays, musicals, music concerts, recitals, dance concerts, comedy shows, etc. * May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.
Hiring Salary Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Theater, Theater Production, or a related field; prefer at least six months of experience working on the technical side of theater or a performing arts center environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidates must be prepared to work a diverse schedule that encompasses evenings and weekends.

Must undergo criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required. The driving record of an individual may be reviewed annually for qualification purposes. At the time of hire or within four (4) months of employment, hold First Aid/CPR certifications.
