Job Title: Service Desk Technician *Location:* Portland, Oregon
*Experience Level:* Entry Level *Workplace Type:* On-site *Shift: *3rd Shift Overview TEKsystems is seeking an entry-level Service Desk Technician to join its Central Operations Team. This role is essential to maintaining system integrity and delivering a positive support experience through phone and email interactions. The technician will monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operations across various platforms. Key Responsibilities *Operations & Monitoring* * Monitor system logs and alerts throughout the shift * Complete assigned tasks and checklists accurately and on time * Assist team members and contribute to a collaborative environment * Document issues thoroughly and escalate when necessary * Participate in team meetings and performance reviews * Maintain a clean and organized workspace *Customer Support* * Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally * Provide courteous and effective support, aiming for first-call resolution * Log all calls and emails into the service ticketing system * Respond to email inquiries with clarity and professionalism * Keep customers informed with timely updates *Technical & Project Work* * Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and software issues * Support system configuration tasks and data entry * Participate in testing new software releases * Contribute to assigned projects as needed Required Qualifications * Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma or GED * Strong problem-solving skills and a calm demeanor under pressure * Excellent verbal and written communication * Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) * Reliable transportation and punctuality * Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications * Associate's or Bachelor's degree * Experience with basic hardware configurations (e.g., routers, switches, printers) * Familiarity with troubleshooting and system setup * Willingness to travel occasionally Work Environment * Fast-paced call center setting * Use of multiple monitors * Team size: ~24 people * Shift structure: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts Physical & Mental Demands * Extended periods of sitting and computer use * Frequent use of hands, arms, and voice for communication * Ability to focus amid interruptions and shifting priorities * Visual acuity including color and depth perception Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
