Position Overview A fast-growing technology integrator is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Cabling Technician to join its team in South Bend. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in cabling, terminations, and basic construction who are eager to grow within the booming data center industry. You'll work under the guidance of senior technicians to support the installation and testing of network infrastructure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities * Pull, dress, and label Cat5e/Cat6 cabling per TIA/EIA standards * Assist with RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations * Perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks * Support cable testing using tools such as Fluke and EXFO (under supervision) * Assist with labeling and cable identification * Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and handling * Maintain a clean and organized worksite while following all safety protocols * Take direction from senior technicians and supervisors Required Skills & Qualifications * Experience with equipment/cabling testing, rack/cabinet buildouts, and patch panel terminations * Basic understanding of RJ45 terminations and punch-down techniques * Comfortable working with color-coded wiring * Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity * Willingness to work flexible hours (days, nights, weekends) based on project needs * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 20 feet, and work in confined spaces * High school diploma or GED * Ability to read, write, and understand English; bilingual skills are a plus * Prior construction experience preferred Employee Value Proposition This is an opportunity to advance your career with a stable company at the center of the booming data center industry-powering the infrastructure behind AI and the future of tech. Work Environment * Indoor office and construction site settings * Moderate noise levels * Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing * Regular lifting/moving of up to 50 lbs * Occasional travel may be required * Must demonstrate consistent, on-time attendance *Schedule:* Monday-Friday, 1st Shift (7:00-3:30 or 6:00-4:00 depending on day); OT and Saturday work may be expected *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
