Responsibilities

State Farm is looking for a graduate student interested in conducting associate and organizational research to join the Organizational Insights Research team for a year-long internship that consists of full-time role in the summer and a part-time role during the fall and spring semesters. We have a long tradition of utilizing research in our business practices. The Organizational Insights team currently consists of fourteen researchers with I/O, Organizational Development, and/or statistical backgrounds. Our team focuses on behavior and performance of associates, behavior and performance of State Farm as an organization, opinions and input of associates, and the interface of humans with products and services. The team provides decision makers with consultation and data-driven insights about factors that impact associate performance in support of strategic planning and execution.



Qualifications

Candidates should be current graduate students in an Industrial/Organizational Psychology program or related field from June 2026 to May 2027.

Competitive candidates will have:

  • Strong data analytics skills
  • Technical knowledge of applying psychological principles in a business environment
  • Advanced research skills (quantitative and qualitative research methods)
  • Knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R or Python)
  • Interest in or willingness to learn about cloud-based computing environments (e.g., AWS)

Internship Information

  • Hub Locations: Dunwoody, GA and Bloomington, IL. Candidates will have the option of working remotely or in a hybrid work environment in the office in one of these two locations.
  • Dates: Our internship will occur June 1, 2026 - May 14, 2027 - we anticipate this to be a one-year internship.
    • Intern would be full-time in the summer and move to part-time in the school year.
    • Full Time Summer 2026: M - F 38.75 hours/week
    • Part Time Fall 2026: 15 hours/week or less
    • Part Time Spring 2027: 15 hours/week or less
  • Pay: Hourly Rate: $32.50/hour
  • Stipend: Interns selected for this internship will be eligible for a $2000.00 stipend.
  • Internship Program Eligibility: To be eligible for the internship program, you must be a full-time student currently enrolled in a graduate program throughout the duration of the internship.
