POSITION SPECIFICS

Housing Services Managers oversee all on-campus housing services, which include housing assignments, camp and conference services, and Commons Desk Operations.

  • Assist with the management of University Park Housing Assignment Office, with oversight of approximately 15,800 Housing and Food Service (HFS) Contracts for undergraduate students, and 300 White Course Apartment leases.
  • Create and maintain housing services guidelines and procedures; oversee compliance
  • Administer student HFS Contracts and apartment leases
  • Oversee financial transactions; prepare invoices, manage payment plans, monitor accounts, and reconcile delinquencies
  • Maximize housing occupancy through marketing; conduct student outreach, provide presentations, and maintain social media platforms and websites
  • Ensure safe and secure residential living; report and appropriately respond to emergencies or issues of concern
  • Establish a student and guest centered work environment; develop and communicate standards; ensure adherence to policies and procedures
  • Hire, train, coach, supervise, schedule, and evaluate employees; recommend, plan, and coordinate professional development opportunities

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

It is essential that the candidate have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to use good judgment when dealing with sensitive and confidential information, be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and demonstrate a sincere respect for working with individuals from varied backgrounds in collaborative settings . The successful candidate must have excellent skills utilizing Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Normal work hours are on-site, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., with additional evening and weekend work required as necessary for Housing and Admission events.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Penn State does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of a staff employment Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $68,200.00 - $102,300.00.
