Job Purpose: This position is the support role for payroll processing by compiling payroll information, gathering and entering appropriate payroll change information, confirming and uploading time keeping records to ensure each employee is paid accurately and in a timely manner. This individual will aid in completing accurate reports.

Job Duties

  • Responsible to aid and assist the Payroll Manager in the timely processing of payroll.
  • Primary back up for Payroll Manager.
  • Responsible for following all procedures and double checking details before submission.
  • Works with payroll processing company to correct errors and create processes and reports.
  • Answers associate inquiries concerning payroll issues and time & attendance in ADP.
  • Assists with the preparation of payroll related reports, such as Multiple Worksite reports, Worker's Compensation filings, information for accounting's annual loan cost review, Occupational Employment Services reports, etc.
  • Processes payroll related items for Benefit programs such as the non-qualified deferred compensation plan.
  • Assists with entry of payroll worksheets, manual checks, business banking deposits, and updates to pay profile information.
  • Assists in reviewing employee-submitted updates in ADP, including federal and state changes, direct deposit modifications and address updates.
  • Responsible to complete special projects as assigned for the strategic improvement of the payroll processing set up and systems.
  • Will perform special projects as assigned.

Education, Experience and Job Skills

  • Associate's Degree in accounting or business or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years previous payroll experience. Knowledge of ADP payroll processing system preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of payroll administration.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues regarding payroll administration that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, regulations or government law.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Ability to research and analyze various types of data.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to adjust work hours to meet demands of position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in accounting or business or equivalent work experience. or business or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years previous payroll experience.
