Department Information

The Graduate Admissions team within the Office of Graduate Education plays a vital role in advancing Georgia Techs mission by managing the full admissions cycle for tens of thousands of applicants each year. We ensure a fair, transparent, and student-centered process while partnering closely with academic programs, faculty, and staff to deliver an exceptional admissions experience. Job Summary

Lead the administrative and technical application services for Office of Undergraduate Admissions including prospective student application document imaging and storage. Provide project management for admission document processing and communications. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Office of Undergraduate Admission staffThis position typically will advise and counsel: Information Systems Services Coordinator I and II.This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Identify, manage and support all the processes, procedures, and interfaces required in the production of admission correspondence to new student recruits.
Job Duty 2 - Make recommendations on organizational changes and policy/procedure development to improve programs, processes, and procedures. Monitor department compliance with state and federal regulations, county and departmental policies and procedures. Recommend organizational changes to Director to meet better goals.
Job Duty 3 - Collaborate with all areas of enrollment services to ensure applicants matriculate to student. Provide direction and support to division managers and staff to ensure departmental effectiveness and efficiency.
Job Duty 4 - Implement necessary action to adhere to changes mandated by federal and local governing boards.
Job Duty 5 - Plan, direct, and manage the operations of the area including training and assisting users with systems applications, responding to various problems, and coordinating with operations or technical staff to effect solutions or enhance systems performance.
Job Duty 6 - Manage SQL database report and monitor the quality of reports generated.
Job Duty 7 - Perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular system audits to ensure proper functioning/suggest improvements of online workflows in the following areas: Lawful Presence, Legal Name Verification, Tuition Classification, and Application Fee Waiver requests.
  • Coordinate digital self-audit of Lawful Presence/Tuition Classification each semester, in partnership with GT Office of Undergrad Admission.
  • Process online support requests from applicants for recommendation letter review.
  • Process online support requests from applicants for name changes.
  • Process online support requests from applicants for all institute-level Graduate application fee waivers.
  • Process Tuition Classification for the online student population.
  • Process Lawful Presence for the Non-U.S. Citizen and U.S. Permanent Resident online student population.
  • Process Legal Name Verification for the online student population in Needs Further Review or Pending Documentation status.
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

PHYISCAL REQUIREMENTS (MediumMax 25lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally), 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 25 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIORNMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure, Bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work. Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Required Experience
Three to five years job related experience

Proposed Salary

Salary range $23.50-$25.50 hourly depending on experience/education.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced skill in technical services associated with a university admissions office including reporting tools and student information systems (BANNER). Must be able to troubleshoot technical and operational problems in specialized computer applications. Skills in Microsoft Office and in document imaging and verification is required. Knowledge of related state and federal regulations and county and departmental policies and procedures. Customer service, communications, organization, and planning skills are required.
