Purpose of the Role

The Survey Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all survey activities to support the successful delivery of complex projects across energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. This role ensures accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting to enable precise planning, design, and execution of projects. By leading survey teams and implementing innovative, data-centric solutions, the Survey Superintendent plays a critical role in delivering sustainable change and supporting Worley's ambition to transition toward more sustainable energy sources while meeting the current needs of society.

This position requires a forward-thinking professional who is passionate about driving excellence in survey practices, mentoring teams, and collaborating with multidisciplinary project groups to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all survey operations for projects, ensuring alignment with Worley's commitment to sustainability, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement survey plans, methodologies, and standards to support accurate data collection and project execution.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to integrate survey data into the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through installation, commissioning, and decommissioning.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of survey reports, maps, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
  • Promote the adoption of advanced technologies and data-driven tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability in survey practices.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to survey teams to foster professional growth and skill development.
  • Ensure survey activities are conducted in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, mitigating risk and promoting a culture of safety.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to solve complex challenges by providing integrated solutions that support sustainable project delivery.
  • Monitor and manage resources, schedules, and budgets for survey operations to optimize performance and achieve project objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing survey processes, identifying areas for innovation, and implementing best practices to meet evolving industry demands.

  • Extensive experience in survey management, including leadership of field survey teams in large-scale industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern surveying techniques, instruments, and data processing tools, with a focus on innovation and sustainability.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrating survey data into multidisciplinary projects, including design, construction, commissioning, and decommissioning phases.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement survey strategies, plans, and quality control measures to ensure precision and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with a focus on delivering integrated, data-driven solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with diverse internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring all survey activities support Worley's sustainable transformation goals.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and a passion for advancing sustainable outcomes in project delivery.
