Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit |
The Grounds Division of Facilities Operations at
UNCG is a service organization comprised of skilled professionals dedicated to providing the highest quality in grounds planning, installation, landscape maintenance, and improvements. Grounds Division services aim to enhance the livability, aesthetics, and safety of the campus environment. |
Position Summary |
The primary purpose of this position is to provide direction and supervision to all activities related to grounds maintenance. The primary duties are:
- 45% - Assignments of grounds maintenance duties and supervision of employees
- 25% - Grounds landscape renovation and special projects and events
- 15% - Preventive maintenance and repairs on grounds equipment
- 10% - Safety training
- 5% - General overall campus grounds upkeep, cleanup and tidiness
This is a mandatory position as defined in the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event policy. Mandatory employees are expected to report to or remain at work during adverse weather and emergency events and, if deemed necessary, to work a different schedule or shift than normally assigned. |
Minimum Qualifications |
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require certification or eligibility for certification. |

Valid NC drivers license
NC Pesticide Applicators License |
Preferred Qualifications |
- Minimum 3 years landscaping experience
