As we continue to grow, we're excited to add a skilled Certified Payroll Specialist to our team-someone with proven expertise in prevailing wage reporting and certified payroll compliance who's ready to make an impact and grow with us! Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and submit weekly Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs) to the California DIR eCPR portal and other agencies as required (Davis-Bacon, city, county, or federal projects).
- Utilize construction payroll software (LCPtracker, Certified Payroll, QuickBooks, or similar) for reporting and compliance tracking.
- Process and reconcile fringe benefits, union contributions, and other withholdings.
- Work closely with project managers, HR, and accounting to ensure proper job classifications and hours are coded correctly.
- Ensure wages and benefits align with prevailing wage laws for each public works project.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance and collect/verify their certified payroll submissions.
- Coordinate with payroll, HR, project managers, and accounting team to resolve discrepancies.
- Respond to agency inquiries or audits related to certified payroll or prevailing wage compliance.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date documentation for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Keep current with California DIR regulations, monitor changes in prevailing wage laws, and update payroll processes accordingly.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage Reporting (California experience required). DIR eCPR portal, LCPtracker, or similar systems.
- Strong working knowledge of California Prevailing Wage requirements (Labor Code, DIR, Davis-Bacon Act).
- Experience with LCP tracker or similar certified payroll reporting systems.
- Experience reviewing wage determinations and fringe benefit crediting.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to handle sensitive payroll and compliance data with discretion.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal teams, subcontractors, and government agencies.
- Bilingual Spanish a plus
- Experience with QuickBooks and/or TimeCo not required, but a plus.
