Position Overview The Sr. Product Support Scientist role performs a variety of technical and scientific activities within the Operations organization. This position applies experience in analytical chemistry to support analytical test method development, product support/product development, routine troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. As a senior-level role, this position will keep up to date with current methods in analytical chemistry and will actively seek ways to meet the organization's needs and advance our technical capabilities. Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform a variety of basic, intermediate, and advanced laboratory skills and techniques emphasizing analytical methods.
- Assist and leads investigations into complex analytical and functional assays, associated equipment, materials, and/or processes.
- Program, operate, and troubleshoot complex instrumentation such as microplate readers, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) systems, mass spectrometry (LCMS), real-time and digital polymerase chain reaction (PCR) instruments, and next-generation sequencers.
- Characterize assay and formulation variability using Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Design of Experiment (DOE).
- Analyze data to identify trends, assists/leads troubleshooting and root cause investigation efforts with ability to utilize recognized root cause analysis tools.
- Support qualification of new raw materials and alternate supplies.
- Support and review in Process and Test Method Validation documentation.
- Clearly and accurately generate experimental protocols, draft work instruction procedures, test methods, and summarize development work through technical summary reports.
- Ability to set timelines and consistently deliver on commitments.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.

- Ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
- Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, life sciences, or field related to the essential duties of the job.
- 6+ years of experience in the life sciences industry. Master's or Doctoral degrees may be considered in lieu of 2 years of experience.
- 2+ years working within an FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO12207, and/or cGMP structured environment.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or similar discipline.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis software and/or programing (e.g. JMP).
- Experience with in-vitro diagnostic product development, design transfer, manufacturing, or product support.
- Current working knowledge of oligonucleotide analysis and production methods.
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies/principles.
- Familiarity with Project Management Principles and Practices.
- Familiarity using Electronic Quality Management System (EQMS) software (Agile preferred).

Salary Range: $89,000.00 - $151,000.00
The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
