STS Technical Services is hiring a Material Planner in Greensboro, North Carolina. This role supports the maintenance team by ensuring timely, accurate, and professional delivery of all requested parts and services.
Position Summary
The Material Planner is responsible for procurement, inventory management, and material planning within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills to support maintenance operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create purchase orders in Quantum Control for the procurement of aircraft parts and services
- Communicate material shortages and take immediate action to resolve issues
- Maintain and track Service Center inventory when applicable
- Perform incoming and receiving inspections per the Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, under the guidance of the Chief Inspector
- Issue materials to work orders and work packages
- Maintain adequate stock of consumable material while monitoring shelf life
- Submit and track warranty claims for core returns
- Use business systems and portal data to document maintenance needs and track open part orders, specifications, availability, and delivery status
- Conduct daily workload planning by analyzing requirements, schedules, and priorities
- Solve problems and make effective decisions regarding parts availability, delivery times, and regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience and training
- 2+ years of experience in a Part 145 Repair Station environment supporting business/corporate aircraft maintenance or similar experience
Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Exposure to operational noise, varying temperatures, dust, and aircraft equipment odors
- Ability to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, and stretch for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance
- Must be able to read, hear, speak, and see without restriction
- Ability to work safely and professionally while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, state, and federal)
