STS Aviation Services is hiring an Estimator in Melbourne, Florida. This role is responsible for developing detailed, accurate, and competitive maintenance quotations that support sales and planning teams. The Estimator will collaborate with business development and planning leaders to ensure proposals align with customer requirements and corporate financial goals.
Position Summary
As an Aircraft Maintenance Estimator, you will maintain the maintenance quotation database, review technical documentation, and provide technical support to sales teams. This position requires strong aircraft maintenance knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex data into accurate estimates.
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent and accurate specifications and pricing to support new business and planning teams
- Maintain and update maintenance quotation templates and databases
- Develop competitive quotes that meet defined profit margin goals
- Review technical data such as service bulletins, engineering orders, task cards, and aircraft drawings to support quotation development
- Collaborate with department managers to gather information on labor and materials required
- Partner with the Director of Planning and Business Development team for quote presentations
- Deliver detailed quotations including labor, materials, and tooling requirements
- Forecast task-by-task labor hours using MPD, AMM, SRM, and SB references
- Compare estimated versus actual labor costs in post-maintenance reviews
- Update quoting standards and templates to improve efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Aircraft maintenance experience required
- Minimum of 5 years of aviation maintenance estimator experience preferred
- FAA A&P license preferred
- Strong familiarity with maintenance production processes
- Ability to interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, structural and wiring manuals
- Proven ability to develop accurate and competitive quotes, including labour hours and materials, for structural, interior, and avionics modifications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical and financial information clearly
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to obtain and maintain an AOA badge and meet airport security requirements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to withstand intermittent moderate noise levels
- Ability to perform tasks requiring clear near and distance vision
