Summer 2026 Software Engineering Internship


Location: Parsippany, NJ, On-Site

About the Program

Take your software skills to the next level with Marotta Controls' Internship Program. As a Software Engineering Intern, you'll apply your coding and problem-solving abilities to projects in design, production, quality, and test engineering. This is a chance to work on aerospace and defense applications where reliability, precision, and innovation matter most. You'll collaborate with hardware and systems engineers, gain exposure to real-world software validation, and present your work to senior leadership at the close of your rotation. Along the way, you'll grow your technical skills while expanding your professional network.


What You'll Do


  • Support software development, testing, and integration for aerospace systems.
  • Assist with automation, simulation, and validation tools.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and test reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews and apply coding best practices.


What We're Looking For


  • Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related program.
  • Solid programming knowledge (C/C++, Python, or MATLAB preferred).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Interest in aerospace/defense applications and real-world system integration.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Availability to work full-time onsite beginning June 2026.


Work Environment:


  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).


Physical Requirements:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The Engineering Intern may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds

Pay Range: $18 - $24/hr

Relocation assistance will not be provided.
