Overview:

Sentara is hiring an experienced Radiation Therapist II at Norfolk General Hospital, in Norfolk Virginia. This position will provide support to our Hampton Roads Hospitals to include:

  • Norfolk General

  • Virginia Beach General

  • Obici

  • Careplex

  • Brock Cancer Center

  • Princess Anne

  • Albemarle

Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 offered for qualified candidates.

Overview

Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:

* Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT)
* Deliver brachytherapy treatment
* Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices
* Reviewing patient records for accuracy
* Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
* Maintaining patient records, reports, and files

Minimum of 3 years of experience and must meet 4 of the following criteria and have passed associated competencies to move from Radiation Therapist I:

Pediatric Center: Age based competencies EBRT/Sim
Clinical Coordinator-RTT Students: Preceptor/clinical coord Comp
SRS/SBRT: General SRS/SBRT Comps
Simulation Tech: General Sim Comp, IV Start Comp
Treatment Competencies: General EBRT Comp
Advanced Imaging: Identify/Vision RT/iCBCT/Gated CBCT/4D CBCT
Brachy Therapist: General Brachy Comp
Second Licensure (CT, MRI, R): Proof of second licensure

Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of Associates degree will also be considered.

Education
  • Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure
  • ARRT Certification REQUIRED

Experience
  • 3 years Radiation Therapy experience REQUIRED
