Sayres is seeking a Navy Aegis SPY Radar Baseline 9C Trainer/Technician with SECRET clearance verifiable in DISS, located in Pearl Harbor, HI. Responsibilities: Support SCSTC Detachment Middle Pacific in Pearl Harbor, HI. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to fleet sailors, focusing on Baseline 9C and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems. Your expertise in maintenance and operation of the SPY Radar System will be crucial in ensuring the readiness and proficiency of the technicians.
- Develop, organize, and conduct classroom and lab training for fleet SPY technicians on Baseline 9C and BMD, supporting the maintenance and operation of the SPY Radar System.
- Develop, test, maintain, and deliver training programs and related materials to support Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) training objectives.
- Teach approved course content and objectives to trainees.
- Conduct dynamic assessments of sailors' abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures, providing formal appraisals of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency.
- Review and analyze U.S. Navy Aegis Combat System Engineering Capabilities and Limitations, as well as Operational and Tactical doctrine, to optimize the application of ship's Combat Systems capabilities and limitations in dynamic operational and tactical environments.
- Observe and assess contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches, adhering to NAVEDTRA 135 requirements.
- Prepare, review, and customize curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides for traditional classroom teaching.
- Conduct training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
- Maintain records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
- Support updates of course curriculum on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.
- Stay current with relevant technologies as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience.
- Seven (7) years of experience with the required system or process as either a maintenance technician or operator, with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in an apprentice-level training environment with minimum of one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, including curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction, and counseling students on academic learning problems.
- Required additional qualification: RSC qualified and NEC 1387/V70A. Consideration may also be given to candidates with the following NECs: V43A, V16A, V04A, or V71A.
- Ability to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
- Travel may be required, up to 20% of the time.
- Prior SCSTC/ATRC/TACTRAGRU experience is a significant plus.
- Must be medically fit to board USN Ships.
