Summary:
The Administrative Director of Nursing has 24/7 accountability for prioritizing, planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department(s) in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, industry standards, and regulations that govern the organizational enterprise. Responsibilities include patient and financial outcomes and creating an environment that supports healthy team member engagement. These efforts will be directed by the VP Clinical Services/Chief Nursing Officer to ensure that the organizational goals are achieved within the highest degree of quality, service, and team member engagement.

EDUCATION

Master's degree required or ability to obtain within 3 years of assuming position.

LICENSURE

Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or one of compact states

EXPERIENCE

5 years of professional nursing experience in an acute care setting with two (2) years in a Nurse Manager position in area of related specialty required. Demonstrated leadership, management and facilitation skills. Ability to make prompt and effective decisions. Demonstrated excellent provider and collegial relationships. Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage priorities and utilize time effectively. Demonstrated competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills. Communicates clearly to express thoughts and ideas (interpersonal and technological effectiveness competencies). Demonstrated flexibility and independence. Ability to work as a member of large, complex health system.

CERTIFICATION

Certification in nursing administration preferred, but not required. CPR certification required.
