Responsibilities

    Use specialized training device computer software and/or hardware to develop, integrate and edit instructional text, audio, graphics, animation, and video for interactive presentations.
  • Implement quality control and review and revision procedures throughout the courseware development process.
  • Apply basic military technical knowledge to solve standard problems, follows detailed instructions, performs such tasks as supporting quality/ISO, security, and safety training programs.
  • Ensure the systems and subsystems are fully operational, and in compliance with Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity requirements, and systems are available for scheduled rotational support missions.
  • Provide technical and training assistance to customers via phone, email, video conferencing, and onsite using simulations training systems in military and commercial markets.
  • Provide instructional assistance in performing detailed and advanced product familiarization, equipment safety briefings, conduct After Action Reviews (AAR's) and facilitate operational product training.
  • Provide a positive customer service experience.
  • Perform Customer Support Help Desk duties as required.
  • Perform all functions required to maintain and repair Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations (TADSS) and equipment.
  • Travel to customer locations to perform on-site preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS), other maintenance and repair activities, install software and password updates.
  • Troubleshoot to identify and isolate equipment faults, and perform corrective actions in accordance with technical guidelines, such as identify and use spare/repair parts to repair faults, research, select and/or order repair parts needed.
  • Assist in or lead the instruction of customer personnel in the operation and maintenance of training products and/or modified training systems.
  • Assist with product integration and testing of new software and hardware.
  • Apply technical knowledge to resolve customer issues over the phone or through video communication.
  • Facilitate New Equipment Training (NET) Courses and participate in the development of the course material.
  • Conduct on-site installation of equipment, following established testing procedures to ensure proper working order.
  • Examine training systems and subsystems to diagnose sources of trouble and provide preventative maintenance tips directly to customers.
  • Prepare written synopses of repair activities, writing new or modifying existing maintenance work instructions and troubleshooting steps.
  • Remove, dismantle, or partly dismantle training systems and/or components and perform repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools.
  • Document repair actions in an electronic tracking tool.
  • May be required to support other devices and will be cross trained, as needed.
  • Troubleshoot systems and subsystems to diagnose issues and identify and perform corrective actions.
  • Validate new software images and password update utilities, install and test on systems to verify the systems are operational after installation.
  • Ensure medium used for installation of new software images are set up properly prior to deployment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Experience/Qualifications

  • High School diploma or higher education.
  • One or more years' experience in simulation, computer maintenance, electronics technology, personal computer repair and assembly or other closely related disciplines, to include facilitating training.
  • Possess a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and analyze electronic schematics, wire diagrams, other mechanical and technical drawings.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time domestic (CONUS) and international (OCONUS).
  • Ability to be "on-call" to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Understanding of computers, networks, switches, and other network equipment.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication, including scheduling skills.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible workweek.


Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Associate or higher degree in a technical discipline.
  • Possess CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications.
  • Experience as a Computer Technologist or related position.
  • Experience in loading software and operating system packages.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of computer systems and troubleshooting to resolve complex issues, and document events.
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Possess CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications.
  • Prefer past work experience with military simulation devices or related equipment.
  • Prior Military service in the US Armed Forces.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid U.S driver's license, the ability to be insured by company insurance, and U.S. Passport.
  • Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a US government Common Access Card (CAC), and a classified security clearance.
  • May be required to travel for long periods of time


Physical Demands

Physical Demands: Ability to speak and possess hearing acuity necessary to understand telephonic communications. Visual acuity (peripheral vision, depth perception, color acuity) necessary to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair virtual simulation training devices. Able to lift, carry, push, or pull, up to 50 pounds unassisted; sit or stand for long periods of time; walk, climb, reach, handle, and have good finger dexterity.

Environmental Demands: Inside and outside work. May require exposure to inclement weather (heat, humidity, wind, cold, snow, ice and rain).
