Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect:

  • Challenges status quo to implement effective processes in classified environments.
  • Appointed dual roles as a Classified System Administrator and Information System Security Officer, respective of separation of duties.
  • Participates in classified system and processes policy refinement and implementation.
  • Investigates technical issues of advanced complexity alongside lower tier classified system and network administrators.
  • Mentors and coordinates activities of lower tier classified system and network administrators.
  • Works with security architect to implement advanced networks, systems and architectures.
  • Utilizes System Information and Event Management software (Splunk) to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Assists in and validates provisioning of accounts/groups in support of account management processes and policies.
  • Assists the ISSM with interpretation of the NISPOM for implementation on classified systems and networks at GDLS.
  • Collaborates with the ISSM to create, maintain, and modify System Security Plans (SSPs), Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) and other security-related documentation.
  • Conducts continuous monitoring of classified systems and networks.
  • Ensures systems are operated, maintained and disposed of in accordance with DoD/NISPOM requirements as outlined in the relevant SSP.
  • Conducts awareness and training sessions with Lab Administrative Staff and users.
  • Serves as a Lab Custodian to facilitate classified processing by program personnel.
  • Ensures readiness of Secure Video Teleconference systems for GDLS and USG Meetings.
  • Participates in Classified System inspections and assessments including Cyber Operational Readiness Assessments, Security and Vulnerability Assessments, and Assess & Authorize reviews.
Minimum Requirements: * MUST POSSESS and be able to maintain a U.S. Government SECRET or higher clearance. * MUST be a United States citizen
  • 7-10 year minimum of experience in a technical workstation or system administration role.
  • Leadership/Management experience of technical staff preferred.
* Bachelor of Science degree required. Fields of Study related to Computer Science or Cyber Security preferred. * Must have one of the following certifications (more advanced certificates considered): o Security+ CE o CCST o CySA+ o CCNA-Security * Must have very good written and verbal communication skills. * Must be detail-oriented, independent and organized. * Must have experience with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Must have experience with SCAP Compliance Checker, STIG Viewer, and IAVMs. * Preferred experience with certification/authorization requirements as outlined in the NISPOM, RMF for DoD IT/DIACAP, ICD 503/DCID, DJSIG/JDCSISSS, JSIG/JAFAN & NIST RMF GDLS considers factors such as, scope/responsibilities of the position, candidate experience and education/training background, in addition to local market comparable and business considerations when extending an offer.
