Under the supervision of the Director of MID Solutions, theMID Operations Specialistis responsible for continuously developing and sustaining key tools and resources to support pharmacy operations within a Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID) environment. This role ensures regulatory compliance and operational excellence through structured education, performance evaluation, and collaboration with MID and across internal McKesson Departments. The Operations Specialist also contributes to quality assurance efforts, monitors industry trends, and provides data-driven insights to enhance workflow efficiency and support departmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Training Materials:Design and maintain lesson materials, instructional modules, and structured training programs focused on pharmacy operations, including regulatory compliance, medication dispensing workflows, customer service standards, and safety protocols specific to the MID environment.

  • Evaluate and Improve Training Programs:Monitor the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback, performance metrics, and staff assessments. Continuously refine content and delivery methods to enhance learning outcomes and operational efficiency.

  • Comprehensive Pharmacy Operations Support:Experienced in processing prescriptions, billing insurance, managing inventory, handling drug recalls, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a Medically Integrated Dispensing (MID) setting.

  • Maintain Regulatory Awareness:Stay current with changes in pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. Ensure all training materials and operational practices reflect the latest compliance requirements.

  • Collaboration:Partner with pharmacy leadership, clinical teams, and MID Account Support Teams to align training efforts with departmental goals, quality standards, and regulatory expectations.

  • Subject Matter Expertise:Experienced in oral drug dispensing, financial assistance programs, and Medicare Part B requirements, ensuring cost-effective and compliant medication access.

  • Stay Informed on Industry Trends:Continuously update personal knowledge of technology and operational best practices relevant to pharmacy and infusion services

  • Support Technology Integration: Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify technical tools that enhance operations and staff efficiency.

  • Demonstrate Autonomy and Accountability:Operate independently with minimal supervision, taking the initiative to identify and resolve operational issues within the MID. Maintain a high level of accountability in managing tasks, supporting pharmacy workflows, and ensuring compliance with departmental standards and procedures.

Minimum Requirement

  • Typically requires 4+ years of related experience.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Critical Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting is required.

  • Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate preferred

Work Environment

  • Traditional office environment

  • Travel up to 50% required to client sites, business partners, and internal meetings

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$77,100 - $128,500
