Education and Experience Requirement

2-year technical school or associates degree and 5 years experience in similar function.

Skills Required


  • General knowledge to perform routine, extensive and preventative maintenance on buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems.
  • Good organization skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Good leadership skills. Ability to assess operational requirements and to plan and organize work flow patterns and schedules.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Forklift driving experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Minimum Job Requirements


  • Physical- capable of lifting 50 lbs. safely or with assistance.
  • Working Hours- fulltime and available as necessary for emergency maintenance issues.
  • Personal Traits- Good communication and leadership skills with positive teamwork attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge- must understand and comprehend electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and schematics. Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment, along with good research skills for appropriate solutions.
  • Display good leadership qualities. Be a role model and set the standard of productivity, safety, and quality for employees of different levels to follow.

Level of Responsibility and Authority

Responsible for maintaining and repairing all manufacturing equipment and building equipment as assigned. Timely completion of job functions. Authority to prepare and order repair parts and maintenance supply items including responsibilities to correspond with vendors as required. Meet deadlines and following ISO procedures. Authority to operate company forklift if trained.

Job Duties


  • Ensure work is done safely and all hazardous conditions are eliminated.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are met with all work done in the department.
  • Ensure output meets required deadlines while executing above.
  • Ensure ISO quality system procedures are followed within department.
  • Ensure all department preventative maintenance is done on schedule.
  • Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective.
  • Evaluate workload to available resources.
  • Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures per ISO procedures. Including scheduled inspections of belts, fluid levels, replace filters, grease bearings, seals, etc.; repair or replace broken parts.
  • Install electrical wiring and equipment, new electrical service, replace and repair wiring as needed.
  • Repair electrical equipment and control circuits; replace faulty electrical switches; repair refrigeration equipment.
  • May assist with the implementation of fire and safety procedures, conduct fire drills, verify that smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are operational.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Administer CPR or first aid as required when trained.
  • Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
