Description

The Cook is responsible for proper food prep, cooking and service of food while recognizing special diets, resident's dietary needs and requests. This position maintains work areas in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service.

Ecumen Oaks consists of 32 assisted living rental apartment homes as well as 9 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services, and Ecumen Pines offers 50 assisted living residences. Schedule: Full-Time 10a-6:30p. 64 scheduled hours every 2 weeks. Schedule includes every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Essential Job Responsibilities:




  1. Provide friendly, responsive service to residents, families, and guests.



  2. Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to recipes and dietary needs.



  3. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and correctly.



  4. Follow production guidelines for portion control and food usage.



  5. Monitor food and supply inventory; report shortages as needed.



  6. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.



  7. Stock and rotate groceries; label and date all products properly.



  8. Support special events by coordinating food and staffing needs.



  9. Ensure dietary requirements and resident food preferences are met.



  10. Follow all safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines.



  11. Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment.



  12. Perform other duties as assigned.





Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations



Preferred Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Commercial kitchen experience
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment
  • Previous senior care experience
  • Serv Safe certification or equivalent
  • Certified Food Protection Manager
