Job Description

Developing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation. This role ensures that system operations, releases, and enhancements are clearly and accurately documented to support client staff, stakeholders, and end users. The Technical Writer will work closely with project managers, technical leads, developers, and system administrators to capture and present complex technical information in a clear, concise, and user-friendly format.

  • Develop, edit, and maintain system documentation, release notes, user guides, training materials, and other technical artifacts in accordance with PBGC standards and industry best practices.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and consistent with technical specifications, design documents, and system changes.
  • Maintain an up-to-date documentation repository for each system and release cycle.
  • Review documentation for technical accuracy, grammar, formatting, and compliance with client standards.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Project Teams (IPTs), developers, system engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear documentation.
  • Support audit and compliance needs by maintaining records of documentation associated with releases and projects.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with Section 508 accessibility requirements and federal standards. Provide meeting minutes and official records of discussions, decisions, action items, and next steps following system or project meetings.
  • Contribute to the creation of system sustainability roadmaps, dashboards, and training guides by preparing supporting documentation.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience as a technical writer supporting IT systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to write and edit technical documents, user manuals, and training materials for both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, Agile methodologies, and IT operations.
    • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and MS Office Suite.
    • Knowledge of Section 508 compliance and accessibility requirements.
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deliverables across simultaneous projects.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
