Start Date ASAP Contract Home Office Salary Range DOE Posting Date 09/05/2025 Union No FLSA Status Exempt Shift Work No FT/PT Full-Time Relocation No Travel Possible Job Summary: The Lead Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will design, develop, and oversee enterprise-wide dashboards, reporting solutions, and compliance tools that enable M1 leadership to make data-driven decisions. Operating within the Azure Government Community Cloud (GCCH) environment, this role establishes BI governance standards, ensures compliance with defense industry requirements, and mentors a team of analysts. The Lead BI Analyst serves as both a hands-on developer and a strategic leader, ensuring that BI solutions deliver clarity, compliance, and long-term business value. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: BI Strategy and Leadership * Lead the development of M1's BI framework, ensuring alignment with corporate and contractual objectives. * Define BI governance standards, visualization best practices, and report validation processes. * Partner with Data Engineers and Project Managers to integrate BI tools seamlessly with the centralized data platform. Collaboration with Project Manager * Translate project objectives and business requirements into reporting deliverables. * Support tracking of dashboard/reporting milestones and deliverables. * Participate in requirements-gathering sessions and document reporting needs for operational, administrative, and compliance dashboards. Collaboration with Data Engineer * Partner with Data Engineers to ensure validated data pipelines support BI tools. * Provide feedback on data structures, queries, and logic to optimize reporting performance. * Assist with troubleshooting and validating data pipeline outputs. Dashboard and Reporting Development * Build interactive dashboards and KPI reports for program managers, executives, and operational staff. * Maintain and enhance existing dashboards to align with evolving business needs. * Develop trend and forecasting dashboards that support M1's long-term analytics initiatives. Page 2 of 3 Compliance and Security * Ensure BI and reporting solutions adhere to DoD, NIST, and CMMC requirements. * Implement secure reporting practices including role-based access controls, data masking, and encryption. * Establish validation and testing procedures for compliance-driven reporting. Mentorship and Team Development * Mentor BI Analysts, setting standards for data storytelling, visualization, and report quality. * Conduct peer reviews of dashboards, reports, and queries to maintain consistency. * Support career development pathways for BI Analysts and interns, strengthening M1's internal talent pipeline. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement * Partner with project managers and analysts to prioritize BI deliverables based on stakeholder needs. * Collaborate with engineering teams to align infrastructure with BI requirements. * Communicate findings and insights effectively to leadership and program stakeholders. * Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for BI tools, analytics, and compliance reporting. Additional Relevant Duties as Assigned Qualifications and Experience: Education and Certifications * Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field required. * Master's degree preferred. * Professional certifications strongly desirable (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Certified Professional, Azure Data Fundamentals). Experience * 7+ years of BI development, data visualization, and reporting experience. * 3+ years of leadership or mentorship experience guiding BI/reporting teams. * Proven experience developing dashboards and compliance reporting in regulated environments (DoD, aerospace, defense, GCCH, or FedRAMP). * Hands-on expertise with BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik), advanced SQL, and cloud-based data warehouse integrations. * Experience designing executive-level dashboards, operational KPIs, and compliance-driven reporting. * Familiarity with predictive analytics and statistical reporting concepts. Page 3 of 3 Skills and Competencies * Ability to transform raw data into actionable business intelligence. * Strong knowledge of BI governance, visualization design, and data storytelling. * Deep understanding of compliance and reporting requirements in defense environments. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences. * Demonstrated ability to balance leadership, mentorship, and hands-on technical contributions. Working Conditions: * Reports to IT Operations Director, based at M1's Denton, TX office. * Hybrid work environment available, subject to business needs. * Primarily office-based; occasional travel or after-hours work may be required. * U.S. citizenship required; must be eligible for security clearance as role supports compliance-regulated environments.
