Job Description
Position Summary This role coordinates and delivers comprehensive student services for all teaching programs within the Department of Biomedical Informatics, Biostatistics, and Medical Epidemiology, including residential/on-campus, hybrid/executive, and certificate programs. The position supports students from initial inquiry through graduation and beyond, ensuring compliance with University policies, program requirements, and applicable regulations. ________________________________________ Advising & Student Support * Serve as the primary contact for prospective and current students, resolving questions and requests. Act as liaison to Graduate Studies, other departments/programs, Registrars, Cashiers, Mizzou Online, International Center, Financial Aid, Student Health, and other University offices. * Advise international students on visa status, enrollment requirements, and work authorization regulations; coordinate communications with visiting scholars. * Organize and lead new student orientation, ensuring incoming students receive essential information and process guidance. * Monitor academic progress for all degree and certificate students: maintain plans of study, confirm registrations, verify completion of requirements, and update records. * Maintain curriculum records for all programs; collaborate with faculty and other University stakeholders on course sharing, new courses, and program updates; coordinate with the Registrar to update degree audits. * Support the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) with academic program planning, policy guidance, and implementation of advising procedures. * Assist with course scheduling, registration, permissions, and course material orders. Maintain teaching assignments and MyZou scheduling, ensuring proper codes and fees. * Coordinate comprehensive exams for residential students, ensure graduate faculty status of all examiners, and process nominations. * Organize graduate events and assist with departmental academic programming. * Maintain detailed academic program records, including applications, advising notes, awards, enrollment, completions, placement, teaching assignments, and course evaluations; coordinate evaluation launches and reporting. * Provide clear and ongoing communication to ensure seamless operations; serve as an advocate for students, faculty, and departmental programs. ________________________________________ Recruitment & Outreach * Engage with prospective students in a friendly, supportive manner to attract top talent. * Collaborate on admissions processes from initial inquiry through matriculation, ensuring compliance with University policies. * Respond to inquiries regarding academic programs, admission criteria, and prerequisite requirements. * Support the admissions committee by organizing interviews, calculating GPAs, preparing acceptance/rejection letters, and maintaining open communication with the DGS. * Develop and distribute marketing materials to prospective students, alumni, and employers via mail, email, and in-person events. * Represent the Department, School, and University at local, regional, and national recruitment events, career fairs, and professional meetings. * Assist in cross-trained capacities post-matriculation, including orientation, student record maintenance, ongoing advising, and planning graduation and alumni events. * Coordinate the Alumni-Student Mentoring Program. ________________________________________ Financial & Administrative Support * Assist with GRA placement, tuition waiver processing, and other financial aid administration. * Track post-graduation outcomes and maintain updated alumni contact information. * Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the department, school, and University.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $55,000 - $85,000 Annually Grade: GGS - 010 University Title: SENIOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR Internal applicants can determine their university title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
