Position Summary
Lead the delivery and advancement of the outpatient PT and OT services provided at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System and facilitate achievement of the UI Health and UIC missions and goals. Responsible for the overall management of the outpatient physical and occupational therapy services. Ensure compliance with inpatient regulatory rules, provide standardized processes across all therapy locations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, hire, evaluate, develop and retain an appropriate complement of qualified outpatient staff to meet the needs of UI Health patients.
  • Assist with management of the annual revenue and expense budgets for outpatient services
  • Ensure a safe and efficient environment for the delivery of outpatient rehabilitation services and for the related administrative and educational activities.
  • Design and direct quality improvement activities related to outpatient therapy services.
  • Ensure compliance with UIC, UI Health and departmental policies and with all regulatory requirements relevant to the delivery of outpatient rehabilitation services
  • Conduct regular staff meetings that provide for the sharing of information and staff input into decision making.
  • Develop a system for monitoring departmental and individual outpatient staff productivity.
  • Participate in or lead committees and task forces within and outside the health system.
  • Establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders including but not limited to referral sources, other clinical and nonclinical departments, and external agencies and groups.
  • Ensure standardization of processes for delivery of care across all outpatient locations
  • Ensure standards of care are based on evidence based practice across all outpatient locations
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • License to practice Physical or Occupational Therapy in the State of Illinois.
  • Five years professional clinical experience.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
