This is a 2nd Shift role (M-F, 2:00PM - 10:00PM), with a starting rate of $38.27 plus a 6% shift premium. This position is paid per hour and paid weekly You will be part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation Job Summary: Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment. SKILLS:
- This position executes automated electronic product test systems.
- Performs basic evaluation of product performance anomalies and determines basic failure causal analysis of moderately complex power and digital electronic industrial machinery control components.
- Using automated test systems and basic electronic measurement tools, the position follows documented work instructions and on-line procedures in conducting repetitive tests of similar electronic product.
- The position evaluates unfavorable test results under guidance from a higher-level Tester and makes recommendations for product rework.
- Execute tests and record results in appropriate data bases if results are not automatically recorded.
- Demonstrated understanding and logical approach to analyses and diagnoses techniques.
- Understanding of electrical safety within the workplace * Demonstrated expertise with Level 1 competencies.
- Prepare product for test using documented and defined equipment set-ups in semi-automated test bays.
- Understands separated power structures within complexity and variation of PCBAs.
- Ability to utilize more enhanced electrical troubleshooting tools such as tracers, oscilloscopes, and cap reformer.
- Understand electrical properties of electronic components (IGBT, SCR, Diode, and Capacitor.
- Interpret and understand product fault codes and how codes relate to potential functional or application anomalies
- High level of harness and point to point measuring continuity across wires.
- Work from product user manuals, schematics, connections diagrams, and available test procedures to evaluate, diagnose, and test digital logic and analog power control products to ensure product conformity to functional specifications and quality standards.
- Analyze and diagnose digital and analog electronic systems and circuits to the component level of internal printed circuit board assemblies.
- Analyze malfunctions and perform repairs, adjustments or alterations as required.
- Interpret how product operating firmware and test equipment software exercises circuitry function in the testing process and understand test outcomes in guiding the product analysis process.
- Formulate a probable cause of the product anomaly and document evidence that supports that formulation.
- Define and make informed decisions on implementation of product restoration levels and reliability enhancements.
- Research and interpret product Bill of Materials, Engineering Change Orders, and historical documents related to revision and series changes of current and legacy product hardware designs and operating firmware.
- Advise and confer with Test, Product Design, and Quality Assurance Engineering personnel in the development of the product analysis and product function restoration approach.
- Record product test results, anomalies, and restoration information as appropriate and required in work order manufacturing systems and per process quality procedures.
- Assist Test Engineering in building and maintaining test equipment as required.
- Design and/or assemble unique test hardware and set-ups that test product input control signals and output loading methods.
- Increased involvement in ETO test.
- In lieu of pre-defined testing procedures or product test specifications, define and document test methods and limits that promote high standards in resultant product quality and reliability.
- Comfortable using computer technology to perform work assignments.
- Determine priorities, delegate work assignments, and provide scheduling for shift balancing purposes.
- Identify potential roadblocks to team goals, propose solutions and resources needed, to the team, supervisor, or management.
- Demonstrated understanding and logical approach to analyses and problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to operate independently and productively with minimum supervision.
- Ability to interact with differing temperaments and backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of High School Diploma/GED OR 4 year of verified related experience
