Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
In partnership with faculty, staff and graduate students,? OASIS?provides thoughtful, innovative and sustainable technical solutions to advance the College's mission to 'prepare people to solve the world's most challenging problems.' Information Services provides technology solutions and services in support of the College of Arts and Science's mission; specifically, it puts a personal face on technology services, delivering 'hands-on' personal, network and instructional technology support to the College community. The Office: (1) coordinates all information technology services at the College level; (2) establishes and implements College level computing policy and procedures; (3) represents and advocates information technology interests of the College to the broader community; and (4) acts as the primary liaison between the College and University Information Technology Services. The Office reports directly to the Dean's office, College of Arts and Sciences.
Position Summary
The Testing Center Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Testing Center. This role ensures smooth administration of exams for undergraduate students who are not registered with Accessibility Resource Services ( ARS) and who do not require accommodations provided by ARS. The Coordinator manages staffing, scheduling, training, equipment, and exam security, while providing high-quality service to students, faculty, and staff. The Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for faculty, students, and campus partners regarding the Testing Center and ensures compliance with university policies, procedures, and data security requirements. Exam Administration Coordinate and proctor exams during the regular semester and high-traffic final exam periods. Ensure the security of all exam materials and facilitate return to instructors via university-supported systems (e.g., Office 365 rated for sensitive data). Manage the appointment and scheduling process through approved platforms such as Microsoft Bookings. Communicate with instructors to confirm testing requirements and provide updates as needed. Staffing and Scheduling Develop, maintain, and adjust staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage during all testing periods. Supervise and schedule student workers, addressing conflicts and fostering a positive and efficient work environment. Monitor the Testing Center email account and respond promptly to inquiries. Staff Training and Supervision Develop and implement training programs for student workers and other staff. Provide ongoing guidance and oversight to ensure staff are following established procedures and customer service standards. Equipment and Facilities Management Oversee the maintenance and calibration of testing equipment. Coordinate with the IT department for technical support and troubleshooting. Maintain inventory of testing supplies and reorder as necessary to support uninterrupted operations. Customer Service and Communication Deliver excellent customer service to students, faculty, and other stakeholders. Address and resolve issues or concerns related to testing procedures. Communicate effectively with campus partners, ensuring the Testing Center operates in alignment with university standards and practices. Other Duties Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the College. May require occasional evening hours and overtime during peak testing periods.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration; Networking Technology, or related areas and two years of experience in the Information Technology field related to the position's role; or a
- Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position's role, or a
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or Engineering from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in the Information Technology Field related to the position's role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journey level requires an additional one year of experience.
- Advanced level requires an additional two years of experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Bookings. Ability to manage electronic filing systems, folder permissions, and data security settings in alignment with university IT policies. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience working in a higher education setting. Prior supervisory or scheduling experience. Familiarity with exam administration, proctoring, or testing center operations.
