JOB SUMMARY

Prepares estimates for assigned project(s) of medium size and complexity either directly or through subordinate personnel.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • A working knowledge of electrical construction and theory at a level normally acquired through completion of an electrical training program, two-year technical or business degree or related field; or
  • 2 years' experience as an electrical estimator.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Perform takeoff and counts of drawings.



  • Solicitation and review of vendor and subcontractor quotes.



  • Formulate top sheet.



  • Collect necessary pre-bid information including discussion of scope or project and schedule with general contractor and competitors competing in bid.



  • Determine project type and estimating parameters required: labor rate, permit costs, material mark-up and tax adjustments for project location.



  • Draft estimates on pricing sheets and collect other necessary proposal documents, such as scope letters.



  • Assist Chief Estimator in final presentation of bid and sending out proposals.



  • Participate in planning or bid transition meetings as required.



  • Follow post bid closeout procedures.



  • Perform additional duties as assigned.




OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • May be required to maintain a valid driver's license depending on project.
