We are seeking an entry level, outside technical sales representative to cover the San Francisco Bay Area. The candidate is responsible for the full life cycle of the sales process - from cold calling and customer acquisition through equipment installation.

The Candidate must live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

You will be working in the field, with the expectation that 75% of your time will be spent canvassing the territory and directly engaging future clients. The territory consists of the entire San Francisco Bay area including points south into Silicone Valley.

Our applications and equipment support customers are in the manufacturing, foods packaging, chemicals, laboratories, aerospace, semiconductors, and oil/gas refining sectors.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Managing the entire sales process, from cold calling to the installation of Microbulk equipment.

  • Meeting or exceeding assigned sales targets.

  • Existing Customer Account Management - Managing Customer Relationships, Customer Value Creation, Wallet Share Growth, Profit Management.

  • New Business Development - Selling suite of industrial gas products, Equipment and Services to amenable Market, including New to Market and Competitive Account Prospects.

  • A strong emphasis on prospecting including a high rate of call activity and prompt Direct Marketing follow-up.

  • Establish a network of referrals to develop opportunity pipeline growth.

  • Utilize contracts and relationships to maximize operating income expansion opportunity within customer portfolio. An Understanding of contractual language is required.

  • Build and maintain relationships with prospects and customers.

  • Utilize P&L and maintain CRM tools.

  • Partner closely with key stakeholders including Inside Sales, Strategic Account Managers, Business Managers, Commercial Director, Commercial Technology (Central and Field), Asset Management, Onsite Business Development, Engineering, Logistics, Marketing and Operations.

  • Follow industry trends related to products and services within territory activities.

  • Support Air Products' marketing efforts, such as seminars and trade show demonstrations.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify, engage, and generate appointments with prospects through a variety of methods, including in-person visits, phone, and email outreach.

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the Microbulk product suite, safety standards, technical competence, and sales process.

  • Record and maintain accurate, current, and relevant data in CRM. Ability to demonstrate product knowledge and internal resources to bring value to prospects during the sales process.

  • Grow a valid pipeline of prospects, work with prospects through the sales process and independently negotiate and close sales opportunities.

  • Ability to collect information and build presentations to internal and external partners.

  • Serve as the commercial information lead between the customer and internal team members during project execution.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • A college degree, preferably in business or engineering, is preferred but is not required.

  • In lieu of a degree, we will consider equivalent work experience coupled with a strong technical aptitude.

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.

  • Successfully demonstrated account management, sales experience and portfolio management is required.

  • Customer-facing Engineering or Operations experience is required.

  • Industrial gas experience is preferred but is not required.

  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • A keen desire to travel is required.

In California, the anticipated pay range is $86,500 - $114,750 plus bonus. It's important to note that individual compensation packages are determined based on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to experience, and qualifications.
