Position Purpose

The HR Generalist provides comprehensive human resources support across all functional areas of HR to ensure effective people management and organizational success. This position serves as a strategic and trusted business partner to management and employees while maintaining compliance with all applicable employment laws and company policies. Key responsibilities include leading the full-cycle recruitment processes from job requisitions to offer acceptance, and developing and executing tactical plans at the business unit level to achieve strategic objectives and organizational effectiveness. Job expectations include driving a wide range of HR activities and supporting functions across ASTM such as talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and employee engagement and development.

Organization Role

Reporting to the Director of HR, the role will serve as a key strategic partner to business leaders and all facets of HR.

Essential Responsibilities

  • * Leads full-cycle recruitment responsibilities including sourcing, screening, interviewing and building talent pipelines particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • * Collaborates with managers across the business on performance management, employee relations, employee development, compensation and total rewards
  • * Supports HR processes such as talent development, performance assessments, onboarding/offboarding, culture and engagement initiatives that drive a high performing team.
  • * Assists with the execution of the HR cyclical processes including open enrollment, required training, annual performance reviews, merit increases, and goal setting.
  • * Assists in the development, implementation, and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • * Continues to build out various employee programs to expand scope and increase engagement and support initiatives
  • * Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • * Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • * Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Requirements

  • * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • * SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification preferred
  • * Minimum 7 years of progressive HR generalist experience with talent acquisition expertise
  • * Proficient in MS Office as well as HR analytics tools and platforms
  • * Experience with a variety of HRIS, Payroll, Performance Management, etc. systems preferred
  • * Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • * Proven track record in strategic HR planning and execution
  • * Strong project management skills with the ability to define and keep deliverables on track
  • * Self-motivated, organized, accurate, confident, authentic, results-orientated, open-minded and enthusiastic
  • * Experience in delivering authentic feedback; experience in navigating complex employee relations, investigations and resolutions.
  • * Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level executives and make impactful presentations
