The pay range above represents the minimum and maximum rate for this position in California. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range. Salary range will vary for remote positions outside of California and future increases will be based on the pay band for the city and state you reside in.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reports directly to Executive Director, IT, as a trusted customer advocate, the Senior Data Operations Engineer will help understand and adopt best practices in Data Operations Management through collaboration, and communication across all levels of Gold Coast Health Plan.

Amount of Travel Required:10-30%

Work Schedule: Some travel; work protracted and irregular hours and evening meetings, or work unusual hours for meeting attendance or participation in specific projects or programs

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Participate in building a culture of Automation that:

* Continuously assess and evaluate outcomes of the projects being worked on to ensure successful delivery

* Participate in regular review of our existing technology solutions and recommend approaches to improve service delivery for the GCHP infrastructure team

* Develop, maintain, and build roadmap and backlog of activities in DevOps and provide Kanban updates and burndown reports

* Cross train team on technical platform specifications with use cases for software and hardware requirements

* Continually upskill for upgrade information on industry products plus solutions through trade journals, professional associations, networking, associated training and seminars

* Participate in governance and management of all infrastructure projects within GCHP

* Communicate with cross functionally

* Provide technical direction for data products and implementing solutions

* Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers

* Contribute development of policies, strategies and best practices by participating in management meetings along with varied direct contributions that comply with apt escalation as well as change control procedures

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science

* At least 10 years of experience in the healthcare space is highly desired

* At least 5 years of experience as team member in the Azure environment is highly desired with:

  • Software development
  • IT operations

  • Data management

  • IT automation

* At least 2 years of experience working in Azure DataOps program development and maintenance of stable development using:

  • DevOps projects
  • Repositories
  • CICD pipelines
  • Automated test plans
  • Documentation in repo md files and wikis

* Experience and proven history of adaptability building successful teams of SME resources

* Experience participating in project teams in agile delivery and best practice adoption for design of end-to-end delivery and development of pipelines and automation of:

  • Data models
  • Databases
  • Data analytic solutions
  • Data validation
  • Cross training programs
  • Turnover training
  • Data operations

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills used to communicate across all levels of the organization

* Experience building centers of excellence from the ground up

* Strong experience working in a global IT organization

* The ability to work standard hours within the Pacific time zone preferred

* 2 years SQL experience

* ETL
