About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Litigation Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of litigation and pre-litigation matters. Subject matter of disputes ranges from commercial breach of contract, intellectual property, First Amendment, privacy, and antitrust. This is a unique in-house litigation role, involving more "hands-on" work, including drafting filings, court appearances, and dispute resolution. The successful candidate will also be expected to manage and oversee outside counsel engagements in certain situations.

How you will make an impact:

  • Provide strategic advice and counsel on dispute resolution and litigation strategy.
  • Handle case management tasks, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation efforts and to counsel clients on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of e-discovery, including data collection, review, and production.
  • Represent the company in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations.

What we look for:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in New Jersey, New York, or otherwise eligible for a New Jersey In-House license.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of e-discovery processes and tools.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clerkship experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property, privacy, and First Amendment law a plus.

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the United Kingdom, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
