Chief Engineer Job Responsibilities:
*Directs all Design Engineering Department activities and coordinates various engineering support functions.
*Implements department and personnel goals to support company and upper management long-term direction.
*Reviews, provides feedback, and approves all new designs down to the piece part level.
*Establishes and implements systems and procedures to accomplish Design Engineering Department functions.
*Provides signature authority for all formally released items such as drawings, documents, test procedures etc.
*Allocates engineering design manpower.
*Responsible for training and skill development of Design Engineering personnel.
*Responsible for configuration management as it relates to Design Engineering.
*Prepares performance reviews and yearly goals for engineering personnel.
*Reviews need for capital expenditures in Design Engineering and makes recommendations.
*Develops non-recurring engineering estimates (NRE) for new business activities as assigned.
*Develops conceptual designs for proposals and directs technical proposal development.
*Implements concurrent engineering objectives for new product development.
*Participates in bid/no-bid and cost estimating efforts.
*Provides technical support and direction for qualification test efforts.
*Provides technical support and direction for fielded product related issues.
*Provides technical support and direction for nonconforming material review.

Chief Engineer Job Qualifications:
*Mechanical Engineering degree required, graduate degree preferred.
*Minimum ten years" experience as hydraulic design engineer and background in conceptual design and development
*Applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government
*Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
