Medical Receptionist Baltimore, MD MUST: 2+years of experience as a Medical Receptionist Experienced processing referrals and obtaining pre-authorizations Experience providing administrative support Checking patients in and out Scheduling appointments Ability to create reports, documents and correspondence Strong experience working with Electronic Medical Records Experience obtaining pre-authorizations and processing referrals Strong experience verifying insurance Strong customer service Comfortable reviewing procedures and paperwork with patients Ability to create surgical packets Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite DUTIES: Duties of the Referral specialist include but are not limited to the following: Schedule procedures as well as pre-op and post-op tests Process referrals Obtain pre-certifications/authorizations for procedures Provide administrative support for the office Ensure proper coding for procedures Coordinate and schedule procedures and appointments Prepare and send out pre-op patient packets Answer phones, reschedule, or cancel appointments forward or take messages Enter and update patient information in electronic medical records Ensure all billing and insurance information is accurate Assist providers with patient care information applicable to scheduled service. Act a liaison between surgical center and outside medical entities including emergency hospital admissions Work with reimbursement staff to ensure proper billing and coding for pre-authorization to insurance companies *Quadrant, Inc. is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
